Antenatal & Postnatal Clinic

We have a full antenatal and postnatal service provided by the community midwife who holds clinics regularly.

Antenatal care will be shared by her and the doctor.

Asthma & Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinics

These clinics are aimed at people with Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

They are run by the practice nurse who will discuss asthma and COPD in detail together with its management by explaining how to recognise the symptoms and choosing the most appropriate inhalers. Anyone who wishes to make a booking for this clinic should contact reception.

If your asthma or COPD is well controlled you should attend the clinic annually for a review. You will generally be sent an invitation for this clinic.

Diabetes Clinic

This clinic offers a comprehensive service for people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes that discusses in detail Diabetes & its management to help monitor diabetic control.

Patients will either be given or asked to make an appointment.

Heart Disease Clinic

This is a nurse-led clinic for patients with heart disease.

If you have angina or have had a heart attack, we will offer you an appointment for a review every year. We will review your condition, give you the best treatment, and try to lower your risk factors to prevent further illness.

Hypertension Clinic

This clinic deals with the management of high blood pressure which is the most common modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease and death. For most people with high blood pressure the chances are it has no definite cause and may run in the family.

Lifestyle Clinic

This clinic gives patients a health and wealth check. The aim of the scheme is to give patients more advice about benefits, debt, housing, employment and other issues.

Please ask at reception for an appointment.

Child Immunisations

Please register your child as soon as possible after birth or appointments for immunisation will be delayed. If you are unable to attend at the given time, please contact reception for further advice and another appointment. Please contact reception if you have not received an appointment by the time your baby is 2 months old.

Child immunisations are performed by the Practice Nurses at the surgery as per the NHS schedule. If children are ill when their immunisations are due please feel free to talk to the surgery to rearrange.

Adult Vaccinations

Annual Flu Vaccination

All patients aged 65 and over or with certain chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive airways disease are recommended to be vaccinated every year against the influenza virus.

Kindly ask at reception to book your appointment.

Pneumonia Vaccination

It is recommended by the Department of Health, that all patients aged over 65 are given a ONE OFF vaccination to help protect against Pneumonia.

If you are 65 or over and wish to have this important vaccination, please ask the receptionist on duty to book an appointment with our Practice Nurse.
