The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.

From July 2025, GP practices in England that use SystmOne (TPP) or EMIS Web (Optum) must allow NHS England-approved researchers to securely access coded health information—such as diagnoses, medications and test results—linked with other health data. This is to support important health and care research beyond COVID-19. Patients can still opt out of their confidential GP data being used for research if they wish; the attached guidance explains how.
